Prypiat, Ukraine - abandoned city

Prypiat is an abandoned city in northern Ukraine. It was the closet city to the Chernobyl nuclear-plant. Everybody living in the city were workers at the nuclear-plant, and they enjoyed luxuries not know to people across the rest of the Soviet Union.

Two days after the Chernobyl-meltdown, April 26. 1986, Prypiat was evacuated and categorized as being in "the zone" - the area most affected by radioactivity.
25 years after the meltdown it is possible to visit the city, but it is only safe if for a short amount of time.

The Chernobyl Plant wasn't that interesting to us, but the abandoned city was a huge experience.
